There is no better excuse to blog than driving 30 minutes to work and realizing that you left everything that you needed for the day at home. The good thing is, boss is out and I don’t have any major deadlines coming up anyway. I have a class in 3 hours so I guess I’ll just use up some of my time by writing a long over due blog post.
It’s funny, this blog thing. Whenever I have something to blog about, I can never seem to find the time to do it. When I find the time to blog, I have nothing to say. But, today I (unexpectedly) have time and I have something to say. Or at least I think I do. Whether you agree with that statement is up to you…I dare you to read this whole thing! No…I double dog dare you. I’ll do my best to make it interesting…
Where to begin, though? Okay, since I make short stories long and long stories even longer, I’ll use pictures to get you caught up. I bought a new camera in November (the fancy expensive kind!!) and it takes wickedly good pictures. It’s a Nikon D3000, and I highly recommend it to anyone interested in a DSLR but doesn’t want to sacrifice your arm and leg for it…it only costs a leg. It has all the great features and does all that an amateur photographer could want it to do. I am still learning how to use the darn thing, but loving every minute of it.
Columbus, Mississippi (home, sweet home)
Thanksgiving in Pensacola, Florida
New Orleans, Louisiana in December for Shelby’s basketball game
Enjoying a hurricane, Nawlins style.
Eating crawfish…as fresh as they get. Despite my face, I actually liked them.
Alex and Shelby with their cousins from Texas in New Orleans. This was after Shelby’s basketball game.
This was a gift from Alex’s Aunt Janice. Everyone in the south has inflatable Christmas decorations, but no one has a flying Santa with propellers that actually spin.
Next is my cousin’s wedding. Probably the most fun I’ve ever had at a wedding. For those of you in the midwest, remember the snowstorm of 2010? Yeah, that was the same weekend of my cousin’s wedding! We literally got snowed in! It was in Eau Claire, WI and if you ever need a great vacay…go to the Metropolis. Seriously, this place rocked. It has go-karts, bumper cars, arcade, a Dairy Queen, pizza, and a huge waterpark. I couldn’t think of a better place to be snowed in. Fortunately, I like my family…so that was a plus since I was stuck with ’em. 🙂 We had a blast!! Keith and Katie did not let the weather get them down…it was a BEAUTIFUL wedding and a really fun reception!
Then came Christmas. I took nearly 1000 pictures so I’ll just show you my favorites.
My entire family, also known as the B-nett Family Circus. Check your local listings today for an appearance near you!
Nicholas James (1 year, 6 months)
Sondra (Alex’s mom) and Elle in their matching Snuggies.
Elle wasn’t very fond of Dennis (Alex’s dad) as you can see from the look in her eyes.
My two very best friends, Katie and Andrew. New Years Eve in Des Moines, Iowa.

So, that’s everything I forgot to blog about in a nutshell…I promise I’ll post another blog soon.
Have a great day and y’all come back!
