The five month anniversary has arrived and one of our favorite things to do still is reminisce about our wedding. I know you’re probably sick of hearing about it, but I can’t help it. It was, after all, the happiest day of our lives so far.
It just barely outranks the Viper Pilot’s first solo in the F-16.
On this 10th day of November, I am sharing with you 10 moments captured in time that are some of our favorite memories from that special day.
10. My something blue.
You know the feeling you get when you make a huge purchase? After you click “submit order” there is that instant rush of emotion and perhaps a few fleeting thoughts of “what the heck did I just do…I can’t afford this!!” The purchase of my most expensive pair of shoes I own to walk down the aisle in was worth every dime and second of buyers remorse.
9. The hands of those I love.
It’s no secret how amazing my grandmother is. This picture shows three generations: my grandma, my mother, and myself. My grandma, with my mom’s assistance, made my baptismal gown, the dress I wore when I received my First Communion, and the dress I wore to marry my best friend.
8. This moment.
And those precious moments I shared with my dad as we were hiding in the back before he walked me down the aisle.
7. When our Best Man got the saber caught in my dress when he did the “tap” after we passed through the arch.
6. The look I gave my sister during her speech.
We still aren’t sure what she said that prompted this reaction…
5. The worst Best Man speech…ever.
Poor Donnie. We love you anyway, son. 🙂
4. Kiddos busting a move.
3. When time froze.
3. Being surrounded by 200 of our favorite people in the world.
When we made the decision to have our wedding in this chapel, we went to see it during one of our wedding planning trips to Colorado. I remember standing right in this very spot and imagining this scene. This picture is so much better than what I saw in my mind’s eye.
2. Alex dancing with his mom.
This is a very powerful picture for the Alex and myself and I imagine his mom loves it, as well. She is such an exemplar for strength, courage, how to love life and give all you’ve got every time. She taught me to never take a single moment for granted and make the most of everything. I am very blessed to have such a magnificent woman for a mother-in-law.
It was very special for Alex to dance with his beautiful, inside and out, mother on our wedding day. They joined my dad and I on the dace floor to Louis Armstrong’s “What a Wonderful World.” I’ll never forget it.
1. Deja Vu.
Our photographer had no clue what she did when she snapped this picture of us during our first dance. It’s a near replica of a photo taken back in 2008 at the All Academy Ball.
Oh, and one more last (but certainly not least) thing: a shout out to my favorite MoH, one of my oldest and dearest friends, Bridget! TODAY IS HER BIRTHDAY!! Help me wish this beautiful lady a happy day! Miss and love you, B!
Props to our photographer, Tamera @ Click Photography for the amazing pictures!
PROST!
