If you follow us on Instagram you probably noticed we had a bit of a scenery change for a few days. A much needed scenery change. But then, don’t you always need a scenery change?
A train, plane and automobile (a bus) got us to our all-inclusive resort on the beautiful beach of Ca’n Picafort on the Spanish island of Mallorca for three glorious days last week.
And we discovered Owen is a great traveler. He loved looking out the window on all three (especially the bus because he could ride on our laps and watch the other cars). Everyone on the plane adored him, he hammed it up for them – much to my great relief.
We arrived just in time for lunch and suited up for some fun in the sun.
As far as beaches go, this one wins best of show. Soft sand, shallow water, mountains in the distance, sunshine, just enough breeze…it was wonderful.
We spent a lot of time lounging by the pool so we could keep the baby in the shade and because it’s a European beach and so there’s a lot of, ahem…stuff…we didn’t particularly care to see. Owen preferred his naps poolside with the beach within sight and sound, anyway. What a beach bum. 🙂
Every morning, Owen and I would go out for a walk on the beach and watch the sunrise. It was so peaceful, there was only us and the other morning people so it was quiet and pleasant. The sunrise was breathtaking and Owen loved it. Tired as I was, those mornings with him are some of my favorite moments of the trip.
Our first family beach vacation was such a great time. It had been very rainy and dreary at home so it was nice to get away and see the sun. I’m so glad Owen loves the water as much as I do because we have another trip already in the works!
