Welcome to your Wednesday!! That means the day after tomorrow is Friday. Sweet.
My second home. |
The HPC^2 is usually busy at night and quiet and empty in the mornings. If anyone is here, they’re still asleep because they fell asleep working last night. I’m not kidding, you can usually hear snoring here in the mornings. With that kind of atmosphere, I was getting sleepy myself. So, I put my earbuds in, my iPod on shuffle and what is the first song that plays? Trick Daddy – Take it to the House. Now, if you know that song, you know that I had two options in the situation: 1. Change the song, b) Jam out. I cranked the volume and jammed out. And before you start to worry, no, I wasn’t singing out loud – though I did consider it. Nothing compares with my version of Amazing Grace or the National Anthem in the shower, so I decided singing for the HPC^2 probably wouldn’t be a good idea. The next song my iPod selected for me was Neil Diamond – Sweet Caroline followed by Bob Marley – Jammin’. Whhaaat?! My iPod gets me. Oh hey, Bon Jovi! I think you know where this is going…
I realized on my way to work this morning gulping down my boring standard coffee, that I miss having a coffee shop. That’s right, there is no coffee shop in C-bus. No local joints and certainly no S-bux. Well, there is one, but the service and coffee is horrible and I refuse to go there. It made me realize just how much I miss my favorites. When I worked at 5-bux (get it? ’cause every time you go to Starbucks you spend $5…ha) I had tons of people asking me for something new to try. These are my faves and many of them can be made at any good coffee house.
- Vanilla chai tea latte
- Pumpkin spice chai latte
- Toffee nut, soy coffee frappuccino
- Vanilla bean creme frappuccino, caramel & mocha drizzle, 2 shots affagato style (your barista should know what affagato style means {shots poured over the top of the drink rather than blended in})
- Soy vanilla bean + 1 whole banana creme frappuccino
- Soy banana chocolate smoothie + shot of espresso (sometimes I add protein)
- Soy strawberries and creme frappuccino
- Hazelnut mocha
- French vanilla caramel macchiato

I know, and what's funnier is the owner is referred to as "head leprecaun"…so I think between that, serving coffee and gasoline it is appropriately named.
