How are you? I’m well, better than yesterday. I had a long to-do list yesterday and a nasty stomachache to accompany it. We went to a friends’ track select on base last night (seriously, it seems like just yesterday it was Alex’s track select, where did time go?!) and I crashed on the couch to watch Glee and NCIS. I was donskies. Since eating solid food didn’t seem like a good idea, I scrounged the kitchen looking for chicken noodle soup. Nada. I really wanted my comfort foods and we had none of them. Alex offered to go get me something, but he really can’t take hints and doesn’t get that when I said “no” I actually meant “yes” and so I had nothing to eat. In all honesty, I appreciated his offer, but he had a long day too and had just gotten home. I didn’t want to make him have to run another errand. I hauled my stubborn self to McAllister’s Deli and got a bowl of chicken tortilla soup and mashed taters. They looked at me extremely funny when I ordered that. Alex went along and even paid for it, so I suppose that he is a keeper, after all. It hit the spot.
I had another long day today. We toured the schools that I will be teaching in for my fellowship. Columbus HS, Columbus MS and Mississippi School for Math and Science (it’s a magnet school) and Starkville HS. I just got home and decided I would start the laundry, write a blog and SLEEP. I’m still not feeling so bueno. So this post is going to be short and sweet.
Like Elmer’s new hat? Isn’t it hilarious? It was a gift from Alex’s parents. She’s not really a huge fan of it. When we put it on her, she couldn’t see anything so she just laid down right where she was until we took it off. I guess farming is not her thing.

Well, I’m off to read my book until I fall asleep. See you soon!

Yea, I'm here to say that I let the boys try one of my smoothies (with all the yumminess of spinach included). They were ooooooing and awwwwwing over the thing. Then I said "guess what boys, there's spinach in there, isn't that wonderful?" Duh…parenting 101 don't tell the kiddos there's good stuff in there. They won't try them again š Way to go, mom! Ugh….

Em! If you're like me and don't have a vita-mix, try steaming your spinach just a bit before. It blends much much better and isn't quite as chunky š Your smoothies look awesome!

Al, that's hilarious! You should have known better!
Bridget, I want a vita-mix soooo (emphasis on oooo) badly! But my kitchen is small and the bookshelf I bought to store my appliances in is overflowing. That's what I get for letting Alex pick the house without my consent. I've heard of steaming the spinach before. I usually make my Greenies right as I am walking out the door, but the next time I have a little more time I will try that! Thanks for the tip!
