Hello, lads!
Today’s blog doesn’t need hardly any words. We went down to southern Ireland to County Cork today. There are not words to describe how beautiful this place is. Pictures are generally worth a thousand words, so here are a few!
The day started out EARLY <– 6 am
Breakfast at…McDonalds?! Yep, we had ‘toasties’ which are actually really decent…
Actually, I don’t really think today’s post needs any words. It’s all about the beautiful scenery.
St. Mary’s Cathedral – Killarny
St. Mary’s Cathedral – Killarny
In Cork, where the Lord Mayor sits. The tall modern building behind it is the
tallest building in Ireland. It is an apartment building which start at around 2 million Euro.

Breakfast for lunch in Kinsale <– Eggs Benedict <– awesome.
Mom and Grandma in Kinsale
Blarney Castle, built in 1446.
Kissing the Blarney Stone to get 7 years of the Gift of the Gab.
Grandma and Mom kissed it, too! We had to hike up over 100 steps in a narrow stone spiral staircase to get to the top. It was definitely not easy, but so worth it. We’re going to be eloquent for the next 7 years!
Grandma, Mom and me at the Blarney Castle. Don’t we look eloquent already? <– best part.
Cathedral in Cobh. It was built in sections over a course of 70 years in the 19th Centruy.
Inside the cathedral. It was breathtaking. There was a wedding rehearsal going on while we were there.
That is one lucky bride…the walk down that aisle must be incredible…and they’re going to have the most amazing wedding pictures.
The cathedral sits on a hill and has the most incredible views of colorful Cobh.
The Titanic docked for the last time in Cobh (second largest port in Ireland, I think) before setting sail for America. Here is where it was docked at. They haven’t really changed a thing so it was pretty creepy.
City Centre of Cork
We had an incredibly fun day! Lots of site-seeing, ooh-ing, ahh-ing and we even laughed so hard we cried (TWICE) today. I’m so blessed to have such an amazing mother and grandmother. Maybe the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree? 🙂
Oh, in case you’re wondering…still no sign of my lost suitcase. Bummer…
We’re going to spend the day in Dublin tomorrow and we’re off to London tomorrow night! Stay tuned!
Slán!
