This post is a day late because we didn’t have internet access last night…so forgive me for the delay.
We got up early and spent the day in Dublin. We didn’t have much time before our flight so we took a double-decker bus tour. It’s the quick and dirty way to see as much of Dublin as possible. We really wished we had more time there! It’s such a neat city!
Our day started on the main ‘drag’ called O’Connell Street. This is pretty much the main bus station, but don’t let it fool you. You get back on the bus on Abbey Street. It took us an HOUR to find the bus again…it was a bit stressful. Public transportation in Europe is confusing and expensive. I just don’t think I like it very much. But the bus drivers are usually helpful. Usually.
O’Connell Street is the widest street in Europe. The pointy thing is the tallest monument in the world, I think it is called the Spire.
This was a monument of Dan O’Connell. It’s so old that you can still see the bullet holes (if you look close) from the Easter Rising in 1916. History is so amazing.
