If you were wondering, no, the engagement excitement has not worn off and yes, being engaged is a ton of fun.
I’m sorry I haven’t blogged in a so long. As many of you know, Alex PCS’d to San Antonio last week. The last few days he was still in C-bus were devoted to spending time with him and nothing else. We aren’t exactly thrilled to have to do a long distance relationship (LDR) again, but we both know this is the beginning of the end of those. Well, with a few exceptions, but you get my point.
One morning, while Alex slept in, I got up early and made him an English breakfast. Complete with breakfast tea. He really liked the breakfast and even ate the eggs. For some reason, whenever I make scrambled eggs, they look like utter crap. I don’t know what I do wrong, but they’re an epic failure every time. I’m not kidding.
Please note the London mug. I bought it at a Starbucks in London.
We skipped lunch that day. Can you say protein?! And we have concluded that maybe beans for breakfast isn’t so bad after all. It is really good with toast…but then beans, beans, the more you eat, the more you…yeah, there’s that.
We spent a lot of time watching NCIS and talking about/planning our wedding.
And then it was moving day.
His family came down to help. Elle’s cousin Drake also visited. Drake is still a puppy, he’s only 4 months old, but very calm and easy going. Elle still wanted nothing to do with him. They eventually worked out an agreement, but I don’t think poor Drake ever really understood.
Elle was kind enough to share her royal throne with him, however. They spent most of their time laying right here. She even gave him her John Deere hat.
Most everything in the Columbus house got loaded up and hauled off to San Antonio. We went there with no housing ideas whatsoever, but within 6 hours, we had one. It needed a little TLC, and that is exactly what we gave it.
The oven, for example, was a bit nasty.
And then there was this worthless wall that had to go.
