How was your weekend?
It was hot here, so we just chilled. Well, I was relatively productive. But Elmer just chilled. Ahh, the life of a dog. I was creepin’ on Ethel as she was sun bathing, but she caught me. Heh heh…
I spent most of the weekend getting caught up on laundry, talking to the Viper Pilot and working on what started out as a little activity which later turned into a large project. I found this origami tutorial online that I thought would be a fun little surprise for the Viper Pilot when I go visit him this weekend.
It was supposed to be an F-16, but it doesn’t really look like a Viper. It does, however, look like a really good T-38, so I decided that would have to suffice. Making another attempt at it was not something I wanted to do today. It took me 6 to 9 hours just to get one completed after 6 to 9 attempts. So don’t judge me for my poor quality paper F-16. It was a lot of work!!
And please disregard the tail, I know it looks awful. I had to get out the double stick tape and the scissors to make it look halfway right. Nevertheless, if you cross your eyes and squint a little, you might be able to be convinced that it is a Viper…right? It’s still cute. I like it. Maybe another day I will give it another go and try to get something that looks more like an F-16. Key word: another day.
You’re not going to believe what I bought this weekend…a new NIKON!!! You know I’ve been wanting a new one for a while now, so you can only imagine my excitement!! I’ve already taken some time this weekend to have some fun with it…
APRIL FOOLS!!
I had you goin’ there for a second there, right? You thought I got my new SLR I’ve been drooling over! Ha, I wish.
Sneaky, sneaky me!
Truth: my old point-and-shoot bit the dust a few months and I always like to be armed with a Nikon at all times. So when I saw the deal on this lil’ guy, I jumped on it. It’s nothing special but it will be nice to have when I don’t have my SLR with me. It’s good to have for hings like amazing food at restaurants and funny bumper stickers in the mall parking lot…you get my drift.
What’s in the works for the upcoming week? I’m teaching and working on the good ol’ thesis paper until Wednesday. Then Elmer and I are hitting the long and winding road to San Antonio (I already told you this). The Viper Pilot is on the night week schedule this week (I loathe night weeks…ugh) so Thursday and Friday in between Holy Week obligations, I’ll be cleaning the Texas house, cooking, staying up late to see him when he gets home, and reminding myself of what life is like as a housewife — I love it and I can’t wait to do it full time (or when I’m not at work, anyway). I also have plans to catch up with the other Viper Pilot wives, which is always fun but it definitely makes me wish that I lived there even more. I miss my friends!
I also have super exciting news to share with you about some upcoming trips that are in the works for the Viper Pilot and myself. Stay tuned!!
Cheers!

Bwahahaha! I about freaked! Huh-larious! I tried to pull the old "tons of snow" trick on the boys like dad did EVERY YEAR…but they didn't fall for it.
