First of all, a huge shout-out to all the readers. The last post I wrote managed to accumulate 100+ views making it the second most popular post out of all 172 posts. Good work, readers. You rock! Thanks for your support!
There isn’t a whole lot to say about the day of the rehearsal other than I started the day saying,
“Why in the heck do I need to rehearse saying ‘I do’ to my best friend?”
And then we went to the rehearsal and found ourselves more confused than ever. Practice makes perfect confusion. I think we would have been better off if we had just winged it at the wedding. It was still fun playing pretend and we had a pretty good time.
I would have to say my favorite part of the rehearsal was when my dadoo walked me down the aisle and as I walked through the doorway in the back, everyone who was there stood up for the bride. It was a pretty memorable moment of emotions for both me and my dad. I know I have to share him with my two sisters, but I’m the baby so I sometimes pretend that he is all mine. He is the best dad in the world and I love him to pieces.
Erin, Shelby, Alison, Aubrey (standing in for Angie), Bridget…Kristin was missing (more on this later). Us vowing, and Grady coordinating. |
Before I go on, I need to make a comment about how awesome my bridesmaids are: just look at their shoes. Enough said.
Our vocalist, Joy, standing in for the saber arch. |
Let me tell you a story about Joy. She was my kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grade teacher. I have had a lot of amazing teachers since those days, but to this very day, she is still my favorite teacher of all-time. She taught me to love music, love to read (she called me her “reading queen”), and a little piece of me attributes my height to her. I have always been the tallest one in my family and towards the top in my class, and I used to say it was because my teacher was so tall. 🙂 She has a daughter who was born just 2 days after me, and we have been friends since childhood. Joy and her family have been apart of my life for as long as I can remember. Joy has the most amazing voice and I loved hearing her sing in school (Peace Like a River, was probably my favorite song). I knew when I started planning my wedding in, oh…about 1st grade, that Joy would be the vocalist and you bet your buttons she was.
I couldn’t have asked for a better group of girls to stand by me at the alter. They are all beautiful inside and out and I don’t know what I would do without them in my life. You know that feeling when you are with a group of people and you just want to squeeze them tight and hold on forever? Yeah, well, it’s kind of like that.
It is going to be another couple of weeks before we get our pictures from the big day back. My next post will be about the honeymoon instead of the wedding day because I want to use the pictures our amazing photographer took. As you can about imagine I have hundreds of pictures from the honeymoon and I want to show them to you so I might have to break that post down into two. I also have a post or two about what we have been up to as of late (back in the real world). Lots of good stuff to come, so be sure to stay tuned!
CHEERS!
