I’m sorry I took a two day blogging sabbatical but I promise I was really busy and thinking of you guys the whole time. I’ll share an embarrassing picture of me as a plea for your forgiveness. 🙂
Our squadron’s First Friday (was originally scheduled for the first Friday in December but got moved due to inclement weather) was our Christmas party. ‘Tis the season to don your tacky sweaters for the ugly sweater Christmas party and that’s exactly what we did on Friday.
Our party was at the Himmerod Abbey. We dined on excellent schnitzel and abtei bier. It was a beautiful setting and insanely festive.

My most epic moment in fashion history:
We had a photobooth and I was the most awesome Rapunzel Christmas bunny in a tacky sweater…ever. (Personal opinion.)
We met friends for dinner last night and had snacks and drinks by the fire at our house afterward. It was a great time and for the record, Apples to Apples will never go out of style. Believe it or not, there are no pictures from last night. (I know, shocking.) But you have to trust me that it was fun. 🙂
Today is a lazy laundry day. It’s pretty gloomy and cold outside so it’s a great day to sit by the fire, watch TV on DVD and just be grateful for life and all our blessings.
The flags are at half-staff for the tragedy that struck Connecticut. I have been constantly praying for the families who lost their babies and loved ones. It is so sad that there exists such cruel people in this world. My heart is heavy. In a way, I’m thankful that I am relatively secluded from all the unnecessary media coverage and I am able to simply pray for peace for these families during this difficult time. We don’t need to tear this situation to pieces and that’s exactly what the media is doing – that’s not what these people need right now.
This article is all over Facebook and the blog world. It’s a wonderful reminder that humanity is capable of good conduct and it is a breath of fresh air after recent events. What would our world and society be like if the media only covered these kind of news stories?

Yes, definitely be glad you're not stateside at the moment. It's relentless and extremely disheartening. I feel so helpless about the whole thing :^(
