First and foremost:
YOU GUYS ROCK. Wow. I received an unbelievable amount of feedback and support from Wednesday’s post. I wasn’t sure how I felt about sharing all that on the blogosphere, but I am so glad I did. Just a sure fine way to remind myself that I am supported by some really fabulous people all over this world. Your emails, comments, messages mean so much to me…thank you. You guys are truly awesome and I don’t know what I would do without you. You make me happy. 🙂
Second and secondmost (?):
I totally blew it yesterday. I didn’t blog. What up wit dat? What up wit dat? (SNL reference…sorry).
Let’s talk Valentine’s Day, hmm? Did you celebrate? We didn’t do much…the Viper Pilot had to work another 12+ hour day {boo} so I vegged out on the couch with my new fave show: Downton Abbey. Have you seen it? It’s on PBS but we (obviously) don’t have that here so I watched it on Netflix. What an awesome show…I mean, seriously good. I spent the rest of the night speaking to Elle with a British accent. I had every intention to write yesterday, but as you can see, I kind of got preoccupied with my new show. Then the Viper Pilot walked in all cute-like in his flight suit with flowers and cookies. Good grief. Le swoon. Sorry ladies, he’s taken.
It snowed last night and they called a two hour delay about 10 minutes after the Viper Pilot left for work this morning. That figures. I decided it was destiny talking so I could blog. Danke, destiny.
“Throwback Thursday” or TBT is all the rage these days and I have to say, I’m a sucker for it. I’m a huge nostalgic…throw together some old pictures in a slide show with a sweet song and I’m a sobbing cornball. I’ll confess, I cried at our wedding reception watching our picture slideshow (that I made, so by reasonable deduction, I made myself cry). Come on, Journey was playing in the background, we were surrounded by all of our favorite people in the world, I had a new husband, we were the center of attention, I felt like a princess…it was a wistful moment. Oh, about the Journey thing, I may or may not sing “Don’t Stop Believing” to the Viper Pilot at the top of my lungs on occasion…
Side note: Back in our early dating days when the Viper Pilot was a Cadet, I used to make slideshows of pictures of us, burn them onto CDs and mail them to him. Along with a mixed tape of “our” songs. Awww….gag.
As you know, I take a lot of pictures and every single one is kept in a very sentimental place in my heart and external hard-drive. You can’t go anywhere in our house without being bombarded by pictures…
{Unrelated} I feel like my dog is a model. When the camera clicks on, it’s like BAM! she’s there posing for the picture. Also, this picture would look a lot more awesome if I had a wider lens. I’m just sayin’ it in case anyone is still looking for a belated Valentine’s Day present for me. 😉
But back to Elle being a model, I’m serious. I put her Snuggie on her (which she loves, by the way) the other day and this is what she did. I laughed so hard…
Proud dog-model owner right here. Sorry, I digress.
I was scrolling through my files looking for some old Valentine’s Day pictures for TB…F when I came across these goodies:
They are from Feb 2011, the Pilot’s assignment night when he found out he was going to be a Viper Pilot. Has it seriously been two years since that night?! So so so so very much has changed since that fateful evening (it’s fun to look back at that post now after all that has happened, I was so cute and naive back then). It’s been an amazing journey and even though that night caught us completely off guard (I admittedly stepped outside to cry after it was over because I knew it meant we’d have to do another LDR…thank goodness for friends who don’t mind a soggy shoulder) I would gladly do it all over again a hundred times. But then, why would I do that when we have so many incredible adventures ahead of us? 🙂
PROST!
What sappy love song did/do you and your significant other call “your” song?
In high school our’s was “It Just Comes Natural” by George Strait and I used to imagine us dancing to it at our wedding. (HA!) But we’ve since grown up and now our sappy love song is “Come Away With Me” by Norah Jones. Much more mature and adult-like, right? 😉
