So. We’re back home safe and sound but we came home to a house with no heating oil (it ran out while we were gone) and we can’t get more until Tuesday at the earliest. It’s 50 degrees in our house. FIFTY degrees.
Fortunately, we have a fireplace BUT we’re temporarily locked out of our garage (long story) which is where all of the firewood (as well as our car) is stored. Until our friends get here with the garage key, we are burning trash in our fireplace. I’m trying to make some kind of hot soup with the minimal food we have in our house to keep us warm. We are thanking God for space heaters, warm clothing, and electricity.
I needn’t remind you that it’s SPRING and shouldn’t be this cold in the first place.
My fingers are just too cold to type a post tonight. 🙂

We are in the same boat. In the wee hours of this morning, our heater bit the dust. It's an expensive fix ($450) and the part won't be here until next Weds. Meanwhile, we freeze. We don't have a fireplace, but the space heaters have been dusted off and put to work. Argh!!!
Stay warm!!!
