I wasn’t intending to blog for a while but since the poor Viper Pilot was up until 5:30 am this morning working on homework, I figured I’d let him sleep in while I write a quick post and do some yoga (not at the same time). The minute I pulled up my pictures from the past few days and opened a blank post template, the problem of “I don’t know where to begin” quickly presented itself. So much has happened recently. I don’t know that I am ready to write about the happy homecoming day just yet, mainly because it was a whirlwind of emotions for the both of us and because we would like to chat with our parents first. I settled with a quick post about our girls’ day last weekend.
When my dear sweet friend Kristin and I planned her trip to visit me, the Viper Pilot wasn’t scheduled to come home for several weeks. I wasn’t planning to quit my job just yet (I did mention that I quit my job, didn’t I?) so I had requested leave for the entire week and we were making plans for a lot of girl time. After resting up from the long day at Wine Fest, we naturally spent an entire day at a nearby spa getting pampered, just as girls should.
It was a beautiful wellness center along the Mosel River just 10 minutes from my house. I plan to visit this place several times in the next few years now that I know it exists. I’m even thinking of planning a little staycation for the Viper Pilot and I. It is amazing and hard to believe it is so close to home. Check out the safari pool!
After a pedicure unlike any other, facials, and massages, friends joined us for an exquisite four course meal with a spectacular view of Germany.
Feeling refreshed and rejuvenated we headed home to light a bonfire and enjoy the gorgeous evening weather. A much needed day, indeed.
Well this post was short and sweet. Just the way you like them, right? 😉 Before I go I’d like to wish a very important man in my life a very happy day. It’s my dadoo’s birthday today! He will always be the first man in my life. 🙂
I’m off to do yoga but I’ll {hopefully} see you tomorrow with a 10 things post!
PROST!
