I am so crazy blessed.
I’m really behind over here in my little corner of the blog world. The bambino is on the move now and our entire house is tile. Tile hurts. Plus, he is so much fun to play with so I spend my days playing with rattles, stacking blocks, singing silly songs and making stuffed animals come to life.
So, two – three? – weeks ago I cashed in my brownie points earned for being a fighter pilot’s wife (tolerating 12+ hour work days sometimes 6 days a week, TDYs, deployment, etc.) and I hit the motherload of wife perks. I had the opportunity to take a ride on a KC-135 and watch F-16s refuel from the boom pod. Let it be known that even my husband has never gotten to witness an F-16 refuel, just a C-17. So HA. I win! It was quite possibly THE coolest thing I’ve ever seen. Yeah. No wait, it IS the coolest thing I’ve ever seen.
That morning we took Alex’s parents to nearby wine town Bernkastel and drove up to the castle ruins which provided a nice (but not as cool as the view from the tanker) view of the Mosel and the city. It was gorgeous, I can’t believe we haven’t taken the time to go there before in our two years living here.
