I say this a lot, but this time of year is the best in Germany. In late August, festival season comes sweeping in with barrels of beer and a plethora of wine. And pretzels, brats, brot, so on and so forth.
While we should be doing yardwork, bottling our wine, cleaning the house, organizing the office, or any number of things, we go out festing. Almost every cute little town has some sort of festival this time of year.
We recently went to a wine fest in Traben-Trarbach, a little town just down the road that hugs either side of the Mosel river bend. Like every other town in our area, I adore everything about it.
We settled for the standard brats, pommes (fries), wine, and a pretzel for the little Herr.
We wandered around, listening to the band, watching kids on the rides, and enjoying the weather. I took some massively overexposed pictures of it all.
My bad.
This was a tiny festival, but a great way to kick off the season. I promise there will be many, many more. See you tomorrow with (gasp!) another post about Brussels! 🙂
PROST!

Can you believe it's been exactly a year since we went to that festival together?!
