It’s very safe to say that Owen loves his cousins.
There was no “warming up” to them phase. He took to them from the very beginning. The weather was beautiful the first week we were in Iowa and we took advantage of it. Reiman Gardens is a public garden owned by Iowa State University and consists of a dozen distinct garden areas, a conservatory and an indoor butterfly garden. It’s always been a hit with the kids since they were young and they were really excited to take Owen.
Owen really enjoyed the butterfly garden. Any insect that flies goes, “buzzzz” and he was all about the butterflies fluttering all around him.
I found myself a nice bench by the pond and planted myself in it for a while. Give me an iced latte and a book and I probably would have never left.
I took a few notes for my future forever home. I’d love a space like this by a garden house in the backyard.
The world’s largest gnome!
Caught Jack taking a break from the heat in the shade. Such a sweet moment…
Blake was our navigator around the gardens and made sure we got to see everything.
It’s the great pumpkin, Charlie Brown! 🙂
The next day was hotter yet and the perfect day for the pool.
Owen hasn’t spent a lot of time in baby pools, but he is always running under the hose when I water the garden and has never once in his life protested a bath (he’ll only protest getting out of the bath) so I wasn’t at all surprised to learn that my child is part fish.
The little fish is now awake from his nap and we have errands to run. I’ll catch you later with a zoo post! I’m also thinking of sharing a few of my current maternity favorites for all you rockin’ mamas out there. 🙂
xoxo!
