Hi friends! We are back from the states and (almost) over the jet lag. This 14 hour change is serious and overcoming it is definitely a big deal. I took last week off from doing pretty much anything. I think I managed to shower a couple of times but I hardly slept and with the heat and humidity we just stayed inside. It was a rough week. I’m finally starting to get a little sleep and we’re getting back on track.
I’m so excited to share pictures and stories with you from our time in Iowa! The travel day was long, something like 27 hours from point A to point B, but the kids did so well. Owen loved the bus ride and all the action at the airport. They both slept fairly well on the 12 hour plane ride. I, however, did not since both kids were sleeping on me at the same time at one point.
We spent the first week with Alex’s family. None of them had met Della and Owen was so excited to see Gramp’s tractors and trucks on the farm. Despite the jet lag, they wasted no time at all and were out driving them around as soon as we woke up our first day there (which was around 3 am). I was just thrilled to be outside in the dewy grass, hear chirping birds, and see blue sky.
On our last night with Alex’s family, we dined on fantastic Mexican food (always on my check list when we got back to the states) and Owen spent the rest of the evening driving trucks and tractors with Gramps. We are so thankful for everyone who stopped by to see us! This trip was one we will always remember!

There really isn't anything as good as Midwest corn in its prime 🙂 I am originally from Michigan and the corn there is delicious but I know it doesn't compare to famous Iowa corn! It's so hard not getting any of it in the summer (hard to come by in California! Even tougher in South Korea I am sure)
