He has risen, indeed! Hoppy Easter, everybunny! We celebrated Easter a little early due to Alex having to go TDY last week. (Can I just say, TDYs are so much more awesome exhausting with two littles.) Our squadron had an Easter party at the park on a misty Saturday morning complete with an egg hunt. Owen kind of got into it and had a lot of fun collecting plastic eggs without a care in the world what was inside. We're enjoying that part as much as we can because that will change next ... My New Normal
"Ice-resistant coatings require investigating droplet impact on dry surfaces and wet films, including microscopic effects such as droplet splashing. To investigate droplet impacts, a volume of fluid (VOF) flow solver was used for droplets impacting dry and wetted hydrophobic and superhydrophobic surfaces, focusing on meso-scale simulations." Four years ago, I was writing stuff like that for my thesis paper earning my master's degree in aerospace engineering. I drank coffee ... View the Post
10+2 things: Memories from 2015
Here's January's 10 things post. It's only 36 days late (harrumph!). Every year I do a "year in review" post. Well, January was a pretty busy month for us, I don't know if you know that or not. Alex just pointed out to me the other day that I didn't do one for 2015. It's a fairly easy post to write and I have a few minutes just now (I should probably be napping but I'm not) so I thought I'd knock it out before it's 2017 already. January Owen had just turned one year old and after all the ... View the Post
Apartment life + Owen’s birthday celebration
We moved into our apartment on the day of Owen's 2nd birthday. He got a house and all of his things back for his birthday. He's a lucky boy, you might say. But it was a pretty intense day. The little Korean movers were speedy fast. They ran everywhere they went and could unpack things faster than I could figure out which room I wanted it in. The movers dropped off all our stuff in two hours and left us scratching our nuggets wondering where to even begin. I discovered a container of ... View the Post
Korea so far…
I suppose this post is long overdue just like all the others I write these days. We've been in Korea for 5 weeks and I really haven't said much about it. I given bits and pieces of what we've been up to, but let me give you a better explanation. We got here on Wednesday, October 28th and got settled into a TLF (temporary living facility) on base right away. We were given a one bedroom hotel room on the third floor of a building with no elevator. Nothing at all like the spacious 4 bedroom with ... View the Post
Korea Bound
On our last day in Montgomery, we spent the day at the zoo. For being a small city, their zoo was great. The weather was perfect so all the animals were very active and Owen loved it. The train ride was the best part (well, aside from the ducks) and went all the way around the zoo and a nearby pond. The next day we packed up and flew to Iowa. Our last and final days in Iowa went by in the blink of an eye. We were hardly there for 48 hours and we packed in a lot of fun and ... View the Post
