We spent the rest of our winter break in Iowa for my family's Christmas. With all the kiddos, it was just a bit more chaotic than the S Family Christmas. But wonderful all the same. We call ourselves the Circus. Spend a couple minutes in that house big top and you'll understand... One of the million things I love about my family are our traditions. Some are newer than others, but I have a feeling they'll stick around for a while. ;) Here are just a handful of my favorites. 1. ... View the Post

Emily’s European Adventure: Day 20
Today was the last day in London. The last day in Europe, actually. We got up early, ate our English breakfast, and went to a whole new world underground. We rode "the tube" around everywhere today. I've ridden the public transportation in every location so far on this trip and I have to say of all of them, London has it figured out. I got us onto the wrong train only once but after that I was a pro at it. Plus, it's dirt cheap. London has been hot [or at least that's what they locals think] ... View the Post
Emily’s European Adventure: Day 19
Another day in London town. This place is packed with tourists. It was reeedonkulously busy. There were peeps everywhere. The first thing we did was enjoy our complimentary English breakfast at our hotel. It's different, but not bad. I don't eat fungus, but everything else is really pretty good. Maybe I'm just getting used to it. I've definitely come to love tea. I drink it all the time. I actually can't recall the last time I had a cup of coffee! We got back on the tour bus to get us over ... View the Post
Emily’s European Adventure: Day 18
I woke up today in London. The hotel is o-l-d but actually really nice. We rode around London on a double-decker bus. It was a great way to get acquainted with the area and see all the sites. This is the Tower Bridge. We'll hopefully get the chance to go up in it later. Above is obviously the Big Ben bell. The buses drive SO CLOSE to each other. I actually was able to reach across and shake the hand of another passenger on another bus once, we were so close. It was nerve ... View the Post
Emily’s European Adventure: Day 17
This post is a day late because we didn't have internet access last night...so forgive me for the delay. We got up early and spent the day in Dublin. We didn't have much time before our flight so we took a double-decker bus tour. It's the quick and dirty way to see as much of Dublin as possible. We really wished we had more time there! It's such a neat city! Our day started on the main 'drag' called O'Connell Street. This is pretty much the main bus station, but don't let it fool you. You get ... View the Post
