The next day in Munich was not as nice of a day. We had to bundle up a bit more than our dirndls and lederhosen we wore the beautiful day before. My mom had been to Munich with me back in June 2013, while the Viper Pilot was deployed and I was pregnant. It was fun for her to show my dad around this time and I think it is safe to say he enjoyed it. Munich is one of our favorite cities. This was my fourth visit, the Viper Pilot and my mom's second visit and my dad and Owen's first. I have to say, ... View the Post
THE Oktoberfest
Well, this is embarrassing. We went to Oktoberfest back in September (most of the festival is actually held in September contrary to its name). But before I get started, I want to explain that many of the pictures I have are really poor quality or from an iPhone. Oktoberfest is a little too crowded and wild for my Nikon. THE Oktoberfest. The world's largest and most famous beer festival held annually late September through the first weekend in October in Munich. You know the one. We stayed ... View the Post
Grandma and Grandpa B visit: Brussels
I'm still here! I recently had the opportunity to photograph nine families with the jet for their Christmas cards so I'm kind of busy sifting through and editing 600 some photos this week. That being said, I'll spare you another wordy post on Brussels (see those here, here, and here) and show you pictures from way back when (okay, it was only a few weeks ago but time is flying by) I took my parents there. I get my love of chocolate from my mom and I was so excited for her to ... View the Post
Brussels | the day of the happy people
Hi friends! Check out my little man. He's a big boy in a high chair and drinking out of a sippy cup (we skipped bottles altogether so this is a big step for the both of us)! That is, with some assistance...he definitely gets the concept but it's going to take some practice. I love him to itsy bitsy pieces. The Viper Pilot's sister, Shelby, is currently living in Ireland so a quick flight over to visit her favorite (and only) nephew is really easy for her. She visited when Owen ... View the Post
Back to Brugge we go!
Brugge (BROO-ghah) was our first European adventure back in November. My mom and I decided (rather last minute) to take a quick weekend getaway so she could live the Belgium experience. Brugge is kind of a little known tourist attraction, I hadn't heard of it until moving to Europe but I highly recommend it to those planning a Eurotrip. You just can't beat the pointy architecture, plethora of cafes, and churches. I really enjoyed seeing everything so colorful as opposed to brown and ... View the Post
München mag dich! (Munich likes you!)
Frohes neues Jahr aus Deutschland!! Welcome to 2013! So far, so good. We got home from our trip kind of late and decided we didn't have the energy in us to get all fancy for a NYE party and stayed home instead. When midnight struck, the church bells rang and there were fireworks EVERYWHERE! I had no idea that NYE was such serious business here but it was so fun to stand in our back yard and take in the experience. The fireworks in the video that are close are our neighbors and the ...
