The Viper Pilot and I spent most of the day organizing financial records, cleaning out the old stuff and getting ready for 2013. I think it is safe to say that life has changed a bit since 2005... Whose casserole is it? ...wait for it...you're gonna love this... Nacho casserole! Heh, heh...you get it? Nacho, not yo.......nevermind. Have you ever been making dinner and the whole time you're in the kitchen, you just aren't convinced that it will be any good, and you even ... View the Post
Cheesy Jalapeño Popper Stuffed Chicken
I drank coffee with my lunch. I know it's probably not the greatest combo, but the hot coffee in my favorite mug really hit the spot this morning so I just kept drinking it. Organic tortellini and ricotta in creamy pesto sauce. Oh so comforting. It's 2:30 on a Saturday <-- I'm still in my jammies and my hair is a rat's nest. We really need groceries but the motivation to make myself look presentable to go to the store is nowhere to be found. I do, however, have motivation to curl up and ... View the Post
Sweet & Tangy Oven BBQ Chicken
I genuinely don't know what I would do without the Viper Pilot. He's pretty handy to have around the house. He's also good at killing spiders, even though sometimes he claims he "can't see them." Like last night, I spotted a spider on the ceiling above the bed. Me: "Oooh no. Oh heck to the no. Kill it. Now. Then flush it." Him: "Where?" Me: "THERE!" (pointing in the general direction while maintaining a safe distance -- spiders may not fly but they can jump) Him: "There's no spider ... View the Post
Currywurst in the crock pot
My backyard is officially winter-dead. Not to be confused with dead-dead. I expect a full recovery in a few months. Everywhere we go, we have the option to eat a bratwurst. The bratwurst is to Germany as the burger is the United States. Along with soft pretzels, schniztel, etc. Yeah, there's a lot of amazing food in Germany. I can't get over how delicious German brats are. They are nothing like brats I have ever had. I always thought a brat was a brat was a brat with the only variable ... View the Post
Soup kind of month.
A couple of nights ago, as the Viper Pilot was building the usual fire in the wood stove to warm us up, I asked him, Me: "How does soup sound for dinner?" Him: "Soups sounds great. Definitely a soup kind of night...{thinks about it}...actually, it's a soup kind of month." He's right. We've been hovering around 50 degrees for the past few days and the dreary rainy days don't help matters much. The sun shone for a few hours during the afternoon on my birthday and that's really about it. ... View the Post
