I normally am really good about sticking to my meal plans. If you know me at all, that's not surprising. I plan out the meals and buy everything I need on the weekends so on the weekdays I can workout when I get home, write a blog post or two, and efficiently make dinner in a timely fashion. This allows me to make the most of the little time I get to spend with the Viper Pilot in the evenings. I have to be flexible with dinners because the Viper Pilot never gets home at the same time ... Chili Champs
Last night was First Friday (just a week late) at the squadron. The first Friday of every month, the squadron gets together and just hangs out. Kids tag along and there's usually plenty of beer, food and merriment to go along. Since it is well into chilly fall here in Germany, this First Friday, we had chili cook-off. Sorry for the blurry picture. Cameras and phones aren't allowed in the squadron bar. But I took one anyway. I keep a blog yo, I gotta take pictures. Sue me. ;) There were ... View the Post

Hey friends! I'm sorry it has been so long since I've posted. I've been busy busy busy! (That's a good thing.) My thesis paper is due in less than a month...so things are getting a little real around here. (That's also a good thing.) The light is there. I can see it. It's actually bright enough that I just might need to dig out the sunglasses. 6 days until I get to see the Viper Pilot again 41 days until the Viper Pilot graduates Viper Pilot training 45 days until I move to Texas <-- ... {Not so} Chilly Chili
When the weather gets cold - or should I say "cold" because we're in Texas - my favorite dish is chili. It's a comfort food of sorts, at least for me. My grandma and my mom make the very best. And I'm trying to learn how they do it. When I was home from college in the good old days, my mom would make up a big pot of it and freeze it in containers for me to take back to the dorm. Since I only had a mini-fridge in my room and wasn't able to keep it frozen, I ate it at least three times a ... View the Post

First and foremost, I would like to announce that the Pilot finished IFF (Introduction to Fighter Fundamentals) today!! It's been a stressful past few weeks for him. He's been putting in 12 hour days full of piloting, sim-ing and academics - usually all three in one day. But all his work paid off and he officially knows the basics of being a fighter pilot. Now, all he has left is some survival training and then it's on to the big bad Viper! I'm so proud of him!! We're going to ... View the Post
