One of my favorite things about having girls is all the bows. You probably know that already if you’ve ever seen Della and Greta in pictures or in person. We have acquired quite the collection since Della was born. I get asked all the time which bow shops are our favorites so I thought I’d share a few with you today – there are even a couple options for boy mamas too (bow ties and birthday crowns). Also be sure to use the discount codes, exclusively for YOU, my lovely readers.
My preference, as with most of my shopping, is handmade from a small shop. It’s all the girls wear. Nothing compares to the quality, the options are endless and there’s nothing better than supporting a hard working mama! All of these shops offer nylon headbands. This is what I recommend for little girls simply because they’re one-size fits all (Della has been wearing them since she was a few weeks old and still wears them at two) and they don’t leave a dent or mark on baby’s nugget. Several offer bows on clips and in pigtail sets, as well.
These are just a few of our favorites, but there are so many others out there. If you have a favorite that I need to know about, please share in the comments below – I always love finding a new shop!
I cannot get enough of these felt flower headbands! They are oh so whimsical and I love how versatile they are. We get compliments on them every time the girls are wearing them. Katie does amazing work and she creates new beautiful flowers for every season! Use code MRSEMILYSMITH for 15% off your order!
I’ve loved this shop since Della was a baby. Molly has the most adorable fabrics and I love her classic style. She has the best seasonal fabrics too! Oh and by the way, she has free shipping on all orders plus really great sales – be sure to follow her on Instagram because she has some really awesome sales too! Use code EMILY for 20% off your order of $15 or more!
I discovered Megan’s shop years ago but didn’t try her bows until Greta was born. Huge mistake. I should have ordered from her years ago! Also, if you’re not following her on Instagram, you’re also making a huge mistake. I love her bows, the tie is so unique and the laces are perrrrrfect for newborns (especially the bald ones like my babes)! Use code ADVENTURES for 15% off your order!
I recently discovered this shop of adorable bows made by a fellow military pilot spouse. She just opened up her shop and you guys, her bows are legit – she’s got a good thing going! She has a bunch of adorable different bow styles in her shop in various fabrics and believe me you’ll want them all. Use code EMILY20 for 20% off your order and SHIP4FREE for orders over $30!
These bows are so soft and excellent quality, we are always anticipating her Monday restocks! The hand-tied and knot bow styles are our favorite.
These classic, timeless, high quality bows are perfect for any occasion. She has bow ties for the boys, pig tail bows and headbands. The shop is full of all kinds of delicious seasonal prints! Use code EMILY15 for 15% off your order!
These dainty bows are perfect for little newborn noggins! These are a staple in our bow collection…go ahead and get one in every color!
This shop is for girl AND boy mamas!! These adorable crowns are my go-to for birthdays.
This adorable shop has every color and print imaginable! I love the sailor style! She also gives away a free pink bow (like this one) for first time girl mamas – check out the “It’s a girl!” tab on her site to learn how to get yours!
The girls don’t wear head wraps very often, actually I’m not even sure if I’d call these a head wrap, but that’s what I think of them as. They’re awesome because they are pre-knotted (no one has time to tie a head wrap on a squirmy baby) and they’re super soft and stretchy so they don’t leave any marks or dents.
Another question I get asked all the time is how I get Della to wear a headband. She’s two and has been wearing them since she was about 2 months old. Not always around the house for playtime, but when we go anywhere, she had a bow on (except in the car). She got used to them from an early age and now won’t go anywhere without one! I’m not kidding, she had a meltdown the other day because she wasn’t wearing a bow when we took Owen to school. I plan to do the same thing with Greta. Stay tuned for those results… 🙂 Also be sure to check back for a follow-up post on how we store the bows. I’ve tried several different ways of storing them and finally got it all figured out for you!
