The kids haven't stopped talking about our upcoming trip to Colorado. Owen asked to check out a book about Colorado from the library and we made a sticker chart to countdown the days until we leave. Della is quick to tell everyone we meet that we're going to "Cowowado!" though it means absolutely nothing to her. When we lived overseas, we were really good about taking family trips frequently. But now that we're in the states where it's incredibly expensive to travel, and with Owen in school, ... View the Post
Thorwback: Christmas 2017
Yes, I realize it's April. I just can't bring myself to skip over Christmas and Della's birthday (which I'll write about later) just because it has long since come and gone. This blog is first and foremost about our adventures and these are moments I want documented in this little corner of the world wide web. It was our last Christmas as a family of four! I say this every year but it was by far my most favorite one yet. Christmas in the desert is a totally different experience. The ... View the Post
We’re coming to America
The sun is shining, the air is clear, the kids are playing nicely in the backyard, Pandora is echoing my favorite station in my empty house, and I have an iced coffee with me. I mean, it doesn't get much better, right? Before I start telling you about our new home (which I'm super excited about) I want to fill you in on what we've been up to in the past month. I have to tell you that the day we left our apartment for the last time wasn't really tough to do. I wasn't sad at all. It felt ... View the Post
Hey, it’s Emily.
Hi guys, remember me? It's Emily. I owe you an update. Or I need to shut the blog down or something, which I'm not going to do, so I'm brewing coffee and I'm going to do the update. I'll try to keep it brief but a lot has happened since my last post so you might want to grab a coffee, or a glass of wine. Whatever you fancy. Gosh darn you guys, I hate when I get so behind like this. I wish I was better about blogging frequently. I've been through all this before with you, it's nothing new for me ... View the Post
Yoohoo, Yeosu!
Back in 2012, Yeosu found itself in the spotlight of the word's attention for the World Expo. And then in the blink of an eye it was all over. Much like any other city that has hosted the World Expo, millions were poured into incredible infrastructure along the shores but long after the festivities faded away, it slowly turned into rusty weathered metal and empty concrete walkways. Let me tell you a secret about most cities like Yeosu...they're more often than not a hidden gem. Dig a little ... View the Post
Hello Spring!
April has been such a crazy busy month for us. Alex had to go TDY for two weeks but he was only a 2 hour drive away so he was able to come spend the weekends with us. It was nice to have him around on the weekends so I didn't have to find a babysitter for the kids while I had photo sessions. April is a busy month for photographers, I've learned. I was really glad he got to come home for Easter! Before he came home, Owen and I dyed Easter eggs while Della napped. On a good day she'll sleep 2.5 ... View the Post
