I received an interesting piece of advice from friends (who have four school-age kids). Right now, I am supposed to be in survival mode. SUPPOSED to be in survival mode? At first I was totally put off by this, sure some days are better than others, but it's not like I'm doggy paddling to keep myself above the surface. Okay, sometimes I am but not all the time. We're good. I'm good. We're fine. It has been on my mind for the past several days. What did they mean by that? Am I supposed ... View the Post
Greta’s Newborn Session
Greta is two months old now so it's definitely time to finally post Greta's newborn photos. I'm sorry it took so long but life is crazy with three, you guys!! Between figuring out meals, carting Owen to and from school, naps, feeding Greta and then feeding her again and again and again, endless loads of laundry and cleaning, I hardly have time for a shower let alone a cup of coffee. Moms of three or more...how do you do it?!?!? I need all the answers. The amazing Yasmin from Coffee ... View the Post
Thorwback: Christmas 2017
Yes, I realize it's April. I just can't bring myself to skip over Christmas and Della's birthday (which I'll write about later) just because it has long since come and gone. This blog is first and foremost about our adventures and these are moments I want documented in this little corner of the world wide web. It was our last Christmas as a family of four! I say this every year but it was by far my most favorite one yet. Christmas in the desert is a totally different experience. The ... View the Post
Greta’s Birth Story | February 9, 2018
Everyone, meet Greta Rae. Greta, meet everyone. I'm going to jump ahead of Christmas and Della's 2nd birthday to tell Greta's birth story simply because it has already been two weeks and I want to get this written while every detail is still fresh in my mind. Life with three little ones leaves me a little forgetful these days. I'll go back and play catch-up later. Let me start off by saying the third trimester of this pregnancy was the easiest one of all three. I had zero aches and ... View the Post
Owen’s Big Boy Room Tour!
Before we even moved into this house, I was determined to have a designated playroom for the kids. I cannot stand toys having a permanent home out in our living space so while we were in Korea they were all crammed into Owen's tiny room, stuffed into baskets and shoved in the closet. Long story short, we ended up renting this house sight unseen while I was on a layover in Japan with the kids and Alex was in Alaska. It was about to get rented by a group of young pilots and we'd already had ... View the Post
A day fit for a 4 year old
Our Owen is FOUR years old! We always try to make his day very special, but it's so close to Christmas and that can be kind of difficult. So far he hasn't really minded. This is the first year he's really was able to understand everything going on. We decorated for Christmas right after Thanksgiving but made sure to keep the birthday thing separate. He woke up to a room full of balloons and was super excited about his birthday right off the bat. He has been asking to go hiking for weeks now so ... View the Post
