Back in 2012, Yeosu found itself in the spotlight of the word's attention for the World Expo. And then in the blink of an eye it was all over. Much like any other city that has hosted the World Expo, millions were poured into incredible infrastructure along the shores but long after the festivities faded away, it slowly turned into rusty weathered metal and empty concrete walkways. Let me tell you a secret about most cities like Yeosu...they're more often than not a hidden gem. Dig a little ... View the Post
The Breast Advice
When I was pregnant with Owen, I prepared myself to be the best parent. Or so I thought. I read a book on French parenting, researched baby products, and made a very important decision at a very early point in the pregnancy that I was going to breastfeed. So looking back to me at 30-something weeks pregnant with Owen sitting in a breastfeeding class with a bunch of other pregnant mamas, I remember being told, "breast is best." And I remember writing that down. "If breastfeeding hurts, you're ... View the Post
Mother’s Day Gift Guide
Hey hey! I hope everyone is enjoying a wonderful week! There are so many women who have impacted my life and I love dearly. My mom, who I simply could not live without. My grandma, whose kindness, cooking, and company makes life so much better. My mother-in-law who raised Alex to be such an incredible man. And my grandma in heaven who could light up a room with her smile and laugh and taught me the value of a good, home cooked meal. Owen and Della are blessed to have three of the world's most ... Hello Spring!
April has been such a crazy busy month for us. Alex had to go TDY for two weeks but he was only a 2 hour drive away so he was able to come spend the weekends with us. It was nice to have him around on the weekends so I didn't have to find a babysitter for the kids while I had photo sessions. April is a busy month for photographers, I've learned. I was really glad he got to come home for Easter! Before he came home, Owen and I dyed Easter eggs while Della napped. On a good day she'll sleep 2.5 ... View the Post
Firefighter Owen | {video}
I mentioned that we took Owen to my the fire station where my brother-in-law volunteers. I can't even begin to describe how big of a deal this was for Owen. I put together a video from the day Owen's dreams came true! As you'll see, there aren't many smiles because he took it all very seriously. He was all business, but you can see the joy in his eyes. He still talks about this day and has probably watched this video at least 10 times already today. I love my little firefighter! A HUGE thank ... View the Post
Our Top 10 Favorite Books (toddlers and babies)
It's no secret that our family loves books. We spend a lot of time each day with our noses in books. The love of books came naturally to Owen, he was sucked into them without much encouragement. In fact, I remember very clearly when I realized how much he loved books. He was maybe 9 or 10 months old and could spend hours on my lap reading books. I knew from that day on he'd be my Reading King. Della also naturally gravitates toward books and though her attention span is ... View the Post
