Back in November, Alex had some time off and we took a trip to Sokcho on the east coast of South Korea. It is an area that is north of the 38th parallel and was once part of the north which made it an interesting place to visit. There were lots of sections of the beach lined with big barbed wire fences and dead end roads. But it was nice to be on a beach in the polluted "sunshine" even if it was a little dirty, man-made, and cold. I mean, it's still South Korea. Koreans love their ... View the Post
Have yourself a merry little Christmas
It was our first Christmas as a family of four and our fifth Christmas away from our families. That part never gets any easier, but we were still able to make it a special day for our little family. Owen was really into Christmas this year and was so excited about Santa and baby Jesus. Seeing the magic of Christmas through his eyes is what parenthood is all about...let me tell you, there's nothing better. I put together a little fusion video of our day for our families so rather than write about ... View the Post
Seoul-cation, part II
In usual fashion, Owen was up before the sun the next morning and since he was sleeping right next to his sister (they had their own room in the hotel), she was awake too. And since they're our kids, we were awake too. Most of the time we do a pretty good job of getting ready and making the most of our day with such an early start. After having donuts for breakfast, we hopped on the subway to the Changgyeonggung Palace. Seriously, though. that's what it's called. Located in the heart of the ... View the Post
Seoul-cation, part I
I told Alex I was thinking about skipping going back to blog about the last few months and just start fresh. He was like, "What?! No! We've done a lot of interesting things!" But he never offered to edit the photos and write the post. I have to do all the work around here these days. 😉 I'm kidding. Kind of. Alex had two weeks of leave so in addition to getting a ton of stuff done around the house, we decided to get away for a few nights. Seoul is not far from where we live, but the city is ... Here comes a great big fire truck!
Halloween. I'll admit I'm not a fan. I never really have been. Now that I have kids, it's way more fun. The kids definitely don't get it yet, but I just think it's so dang cute to see them all dressed up. Owen was a shark his first go around and a dog last year. The first year, we picked his costume. Last year we went with his obsession with dogs ("gogs") but this year I asked him what he wanted to be. And you know what he said? A fire truck. Not a fire fighter. A fire truck. This was his ... Back from an unintentional blog break.
I didn't mean to do it, I swear. If you (still) read this blog, thank you! I hope you will be happy to know that my hiatus is over. I dusted off the cobwebs and had to reset my password, but we're up and rolling now. We're good now, right? The break was unintentional. I recently started a photography business and promised I wouldn't let myself get overwhelmed. Well, long story short, it happened. I got buried alive with things that were priority over blogging. So I'll just add this to my 2017 ... View the Post
