Hi everyone! I hope you are all feeling refreshed after a long Labor Day weekend and were able to go out and enjoy the last few days of summer! We took a little getaway to the mountains 90 minutes north of Seoul and I'm so excited to share it with you. Alex worked late on Friday and I was exhausted after a week of sickness and no sleep so I went right to bed instead of packing. We got up early, threw some things in a suitcase and were on the road by 8. That's a record for our family. It ... View the Post
The circus is in town!
The second half of the trip was spent with my side of the family. My mom had all the baby stuff sitting out when we arrived and I melted when I saw the quilt my grandma made for me as a baby. I'm a total sap when it comes to stuff like that. My niece Maddie has been the only girl grandchild for 14 years and I think of everyone she was the most excited to meet Della. They hit it off like two peas in a pod. Maddie was so good with Della! My dad's sister and her husband drove over from ... View the Post
A week on the farm!
Hi friends! We are back from the states and (almost) over the jet lag. This 14 hour change is serious and overcoming it is definitely a big deal. I took last week off from doing pretty much anything. I think I managed to shower a couple of times but I hardly slept and with the heat and humidity we just stayed inside. It was a rough week. I'm finally starting to get a little sleep and we're getting back on track. I'm so excited to share pictures and stories with you from our time in Iowa! The ... View the Post
A Korean Fourth
It's been a few years since we've spent the 4th of July in the good old USA but we have always made an effort to celebrate our great nation. This year was no exception. With a four day weekend, we decided to pack up the car and hit the road to Busan, down on the southern coast of the peninsula and spend a few days on the beach. I was really impressed with how well the kids did. It was our first big road trip as a family of four and our first time in a hotel with two kids. The trip there had ... View the Post
Soul of Seoul
Hi guys! It's me, Emily. I've gotten so behind on the blog. You see, I kind of started a business and have been busy building a website and doing business-y things. I'm going to do my very best to juggle the two, but bear with me as I try to figure it all out. Let's go back in time a few weeks... With every intention of taking Owen to either see animals or fish, we somehow wound up at the top of the Seoul Tower one hot Saturday afternoon. The traffic in the city was worse than usual (which ... View the Post
Korean Folk Village
We got up bright and early as usual (thank you, Owen) on Sunday and decided since we were all ready for the day we might as well get out and enjoy it. We have been wanting to check out the Korean Folk Village since we moved here and figured it'd be the perfect outdoor activity. If you're from Iowa, think Living History Farms, but Korean. It's a traditional Korean village with people living life the way the Koreans did way back when. This dude was making pipes. The village is massive and ... View the Post
