Hi readers. How are you? I’m good despite the rainy, dreary weather here. It’s entirely too yuck-o even for a walk outside. But I will take dreary, warm, and humid over cold and snowy…I guess.
This past weekend, I was in San Antonio for a little reunion {I told you about this in the last post} with one of my very best friends and bridesmaid, Kristin, and her boyfriend Joe.
This girl…I love her so much!! |
They stayed at our house Friday night and we stayed up late chatting and catching up. The Viper Pilot gave them a tour of the base and the squadron Saturday, and that evening we stayed on the River Walk. We had an awesome time – wonderful memories! I honestly don’t think I have ever laughed so hard in my life. My abs were sore the next day.
We went to a really fun martini bar because you can actually sit and chat with people rather than go deaf from loud music, and while we were there the bartender made up a {really really good} drink just for us and he told us to name it. We appropriately named it “the Elmer” and he even wrote it down with the recipe. I’m definitely going to have to follow up on this one! How cool would it be if that was on the menu next time I went there?!
Joe is currently in grad school, but will be starting UPT after graduation. This was all new to them, but it will be all too familiar in good time. We also got to spend some time in the F-16 sim, which was extra fun for me since I had never gotten the opportunity to try it out until now. However, the system went down right after I took off, so I told the Viper Pilot that he owes me another turn. I enjoyed it – probably too much for my own good, actually. Nerd.
The Viper Pilot let us all try on his g-suit. He let it inflate too long when I had it on and I was getting smooshed. This picture makes me laugh. |

After church, we headed for the River Walk. Before taking off for dinner, I took a few pictures from our hotel balcony. I don’t know if it is possible to get enough pictures of this awesome city, ya know?

The water is looking a bit murky…yuck. Supposedly they drain it to clean it out every so often. I can’t imagine some of the things they find in the bottom… |

Viper Pilot and I |
Per the usual, I believe pictures speak louder than words.
We had such a fun weekend with Kristin and Joe. The best part is, I get to see her again in Houston in a little less than 2 weeks!
I’m back in Mississippi into the swing of things again. That is, until spring break. I’m going to San Antonio to work on some wedding projects with the Viper Pilot for a few days and then I’m off to Washington, D.C. for a conference. Camera is locked and loaded for that trip…I can’t wait!
Cheers!
