Hi guys, it's me. I'm somehow functioning, but barely. The bubs is cutting teeth like a machine and that means lots and lots of night wakings. Which also means lots and lots of snuggles. :) Rewind a few weeks to when my parents were here and you would find us in Leipzig and Dresden (Germany). Why we waited until our last Christmas in Germany to go to the Dresden Christmas market, I don't know, but it was spectacular to say the least. We stayed in Leipzig and took the Deutsche Bahn (the train) ... View the Post
10 things: Owen’s 1st Birthday
1. The 1-year-old. How is he 1? This year went way too fast. I'm so thankful for this sweet blessing that every night before laying him in his crib, I thank God and I take an extra second to savor the moment. The way he smells, his soft skin, his sweet breath, and his little body heavy with sleep in my arms. He will never be this age again. So I savor it. 2. The party. He had a pretty sweet birthday party. It was airplane themed (of course), red and light blue. I hung paper airplanes and ... View the Post
Everything between then and now.
The fact that my parents are visiting again and I'm still blogging about their last visit should be a clear indication that I will probably never get completely caught up the way I'd like to. So let's get this over with...how bad can it really be? On their last day of my parents' visit we went to a weinfest in Brauneberg and met up with a lot of friends from the squadron. Mom got chased by a man playing a tuba. I think the German men are keen on her good looks... ;) Owen ... View the Post
Grandma & Grandpa B visit: A birthday at, oh yes, another weinfest!
My mom got to celebrate her birthday in Germany. We made sure to celebrate it in true German style with none other than a weinfest. Ürzig, a tiny town along the Mosel, is probably our favorite one to date. And we've been to a lot of wine festivals. It was, yet again, a quaint little street full of wine, and people and food. This little town was alive, so vibrant and pristine. I adored every little thing about it. I was a teenager the first time I saw my dad without a ... View the Post
Happy Birthday, Viper Pilot!
Happy happy day to my Mr. Right, my soul mate, my best friend, my person. We've been through so much together. We've celebrated 10 birthdays (some we were together and some we celebrated long-distance) but this one is going to be the best one yet. A year ago today, I knew you were going an amazing father. But now, I have proof. I saw you become a father with my very eyes the moment you held our beautiful baby boy in your arms for the first time. I still turn to mush when I relive ... View the Post
Brussels Flower Carpet
Happy Birthday, Grandpa/Dad! Can you believe this was the last time you saw Owen?? We can't wait to celebrate your birthday with beer and schnitzel. Sound good to you? The Viper Pilot was away (he's been gone a lot lately) when Owen and I took a day trip with friends to Brussels to see the famous flower carpet. This gorgeous display in the city's main square started in 1971 by a landscape artist and only comes around once every two years. Can you close your eyes and ... View the Post
