It hardly seems possible. My baby boy is a whole hand. He woke up to sprinkle donuts for breakfast and was so excited to bring treats to school - fruit kabobs! When he got home he found balloons and presents waiting. Once Alex got home from work, we had his favorite dinner - he requested spaghetti - and had cake. He requested a cactus cake and when I picked it up from the store that day I was a little disappointed at the green globs but Owen thought it was the greatest thing ever. I ... View the Post
Greta’s Birth Story | February 9, 2018
Everyone, meet Greta Rae. Greta, meet everyone. I'm going to jump ahead of Christmas and Della's 2nd birthday to tell Greta's birth story simply because it has already been two weeks and I want to get this written while every detail is still fresh in my mind. Life with three little ones leaves me a little forgetful these days. I'll go back and play catch-up later. Let me start off by saying the third trimester of this pregnancy was the easiest one of all three. I had zero aches and ... View the Post
A day fit for a 4 year old
Our Owen is FOUR years old! We always try to make his day very special, but it's so close to Christmas and that can be kind of difficult. So far he hasn't really minded. This is the first year he's really was able to understand everything going on. We decorated for Christmas right after Thanksgiving but made sure to keep the birthday thing separate. He woke up to a room full of balloons and was super excited about his birthday right off the bat. He has been asking to go hiking for weeks now so ... View the Post
Gift Guide for Littles
When we moved into our house, I decided rather than make a dedicated play room for the kids to contain their toys in their rooms. I love this because it allows us to have our living space more open and not overwhelmed with toys. It's especially nice to have some toy-free space after the kids go to bed. This also gave me the opportunity to purge and simplify the kids' toys. I went through every single toy and sorted into piles to: keep donate: anything that doesn't get played with, what ... Della is ONE!
Back in December, we celebrated Owen and Della's birthday with a little party for all their friends. We had food and the kids made gingerbread houses - it was so much fun! I so wish I had Owen's reaction to his cake on video. He went absolutely crazy and asked if we could put it on the floor so he could drive it around. We had to keep the firetruck (which was a mini chocolate cake) as long as it would stay together. Our cake lady is someone local from our base and she far exceeded our ... View the Post
A letter to Della on her first birthday + {a video}
To my sweet Della, It's been a heck of a year. It's been an incredible year. I can't even begin to describe how incredibly exciting it's been watching you bloom into the sweetest, most adorable little girl. I've learned a lot from you about being a mother and about myself. You taught me that childbirth can be calm and peaceful. You've taught me that patience is the key to joy. That I am capable of more than I ever dreamed possible and that there are no limits to my love. All that, and so ... View the Post
