Now that I've had three months to adjust to having a newborn in the house I thought I'd share the items that have made the transition easier and have truthfully saved my sanity. I've reused several items that were Owen's, but I've also discovered a few new items that I really wish I'd known about with the other two. I try to just stick with the essentials, but with my third baby, sometimes the "nice to have" items really are just nice to have. :) I am terrible at these posts. They're a ... View the Post
Owen’s Big Boy Room Tour!
Before we even moved into this house, I was determined to have a designated playroom for the kids. I cannot stand toys having a permanent home out in our living space so while we were in Korea they were all crammed into Owen's tiny room, stuffed into baskets and shoved in the closet. Long story short, we ended up renting this house sight unseen while I was on a layover in Japan with the kids and Alex was in Alaska. It was about to get rented by a group of young pilots and we'd already had ... View the Post
Gift Guide for Littles
When we moved into our house, I decided rather than make a dedicated play room for the kids to contain their toys in their rooms. I love this because it allows us to have our living space more open and not overwhelmed with toys. It's especially nice to have some toy-free space after the kids go to bed. This also gave me the opportunity to purge and simplify the kids' toys. I went through every single toy and sorted into piles to: keep donate: anything that doesn't get played with, what ... Favorite Shop Friday: Life in Play Co
Ladies. If you're like me and stressed over diaper bags (see this post) then you're in luck and I strongly urge you to keep reading. I hate diaper bags. I have two kids now and I have a lot of stuff to haul around. A LOT of stuff. So a diaper bag isn't really optional, it's essential. I love my Kate Spade "Stevie" bag to death, but I've started to feel sorry for my other bags collecting dust in my closet. After our move, I unpacked them to find them all sad and unused and I knew I had to ... View the Post
Mother’s Day + Freshly Picked Giveaway!
Happy Mother's Day! This is my third time around with this holiday and I have to say that now that I have two kids, it's really just like any other day. I got up at 4:30 to my two year old alarm clock, unloaded the dishwasher, did some laundry, served breakfast, put Della down for a nap, gave Owen a bath and put him down for a nap...and drank all the coffee. We moms make jokes all the time about how hard this "job" is. I think it is too easy to look at our blessings and ourselves ... View the Post
10 things: baby must-haves, round 2
It's been two years since I wrote this post the first time. You can read it here. This new list is revised and different. This one is probably more appropriately called a gift-guide. None of these are necessarily must-haves but they're fun to have! Della is a completely different baby than Owen - except in the sleeping department. (We had a promising start, but it's not looking good lately.) I've had way too much fun with the pretty girl things and despite Alex's eye rolls every time I bring ... View the Post
