Owen and I arrived in Alabama after his bedtime. Since he slept on the flight, he somehow (very unlike Owen) stayed asleep until we put him in the rental car. He was awake for the ride back to the TLF (temporary living facility) on base and then crashed for the night. Well, sort of. It was a rough night, even for Owen standard, but I have to hand it to the kid. He hasn't slept in his bed since August we are constantly living somewhere else. This was his fourth pack 'n play sleep in four ... View the Post
The sweetened condensed version.
Greetings from South Korea! We've been here a week already and I still can't believe that I'm not only IN South Korea, but I LIVE in South Korea. Wow. To be honest, the RoK hasn't been treating us so well off the bat. Of course, severe jet lag is to be expected when you jump ahead 14 hours but we weren't expecting the stomach bug that slammed Owen the day after we got here. Alex has been super busy with work already working really crazy hours (that should hopefully change by the end of this ... View the Post
Home away from Home
One of the hardest things about being a military family is all the moving. Every few years, we pack up everything we own less what we stuff into four suitcases and ship it to another state, another country, or into storage. We never really get to plant roots anywhere and we never have to worry about what color to paint the walls or the typical issues homeowners deal with on a regular basis because we're either living in government housing or in a rental house. Since moving away from home we've ... View the Post
Going stateside.
We recently returned from a trip to the states where we spent a lot of time with family and friends. It was my first visit to the states since moving to Germany and Owen's first time ever in the states. Alex was TDY to Las Vegas so my mom helped me fly Owen to Iowa where we spent a few weeks introducing Owen to much of his extended family and the land of cornfields and humidity. I can say that for the most part things went pretty well. I've been nervous about travelling internationally ... View the Post

THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart for all the love that poured in after our announcement last week! We are over the moon excited. Our babes will be about 2 years apart and we're probably a little bit crazy doing this with our big move coming up soon. But then again, I don't know pregnancy without a little life excitement. The first trimester is over now and I kissed it good riddance. I had the kind of pregnancy (with Owen) that made most women want to punch me in the face. After the ... View the Post
How to: make a morale patch board
The Viper Pilot was away for a few weeks back in January so I thought I'd surprise him by organizing our life. & when I say life, I mean the office. This took days (during Owen's nap time when I, too, should have been napping - HA! sleep is for the weak). I came across a photo frame that I'd bought almost two years ago and realized that I never got around to doing anything with it. Well, I said, no time is better than the present. Unless Owen wakes up and then it will have to wait. If you ... View the Post
