My mom got to celebrate her birthday in Germany. We made sure to celebrate it in true German style with none other than a weinfest. Ürzig, a tiny town along the Mosel, is probably our favorite one to date. And we've been to a lot of wine festivals. It was, yet again, a quaint little street full of wine, and people and food. This little town was alive, so vibrant and pristine. I adored every little thing about it. I was a teenager the first time I saw my dad without a ... View the Post
Grandma and Grandpa B visit: Brussels
I'm still here! I recently had the opportunity to photograph nine families with the jet for their Christmas cards so I'm kind of busy sifting through and editing 600 some photos this week. That being said, I'll spare you another wordy post on Brussels (see those here, here, and here) and show you pictures from way back when (okay, it was only a few weeks ago but time is flying by) I took my parents there. I get my love of chocolate from my mom and I was so excited for her to ... View the Post
Let’s go festing!
Late August/early September is when festival season really kicks off in Germany. It's a wonderful time of the year to play dress up and drink wine, beer, and eat (rinse and repeat). Our squadron had a First Friday (our annual Warhawktoberfest) in early September and we were required to dress the part. This is Owen and his girlfriend looking too cute for words. The same weekend we went to the weinfest in Bernkastel. It was my third, the Viper Pilot's second, and Owen's first time to ... View the Post

Kinheim Weinstrasse
Oh, a mother's love. There's nothing quite like it, am I right? Hot dog, I'm on a roll. It's so nice to get the blog all caught up! We've been so busy lately, there's just so much to share. Thanks for your patience with me and for your readership. I love you guys! We headed over to Kinheim's weinfest on a beautiful late summer Sunday afternoon. Kinheim is a very small town along the Mosel, and could be right out of a storybook. I can think of a million words to describe ... View the Post
Traben-Trarbach Weinfest
I say this a lot, but this time of year is the best in Germany. In late August, festival season comes sweeping in with barrels of beer and a plethora of wine. And pretzels, brats, brot, so on and so forth. While we should be doing yardwork, bottling our wine, cleaning the house, organizing the office, or any number of things, we go out festing. Almost every cute little town has some sort of festival this time of year. We recently went to a wine fest in Traben-Trarbach, a little town ... View the Post
